Southern Ohio Medical Center will leverage Trellis Rx’s innovative specialty pharmacy care model to introduce in-clinic services, provided by patient liaisons and clinical pharmacists, throughout Southern Ohio.

Southern Ohio Medical Center (SOMC), a standout rural hospital located in Portsmouth, OH, and Trellis Rx, the premier specialty pharmacy solution for healthcare systems, announced today a joint agreement to develop a specialty pharmacy as part of the SOMC health system. This specialty pharmacy will be designed with an unprecedented focus on patient engagement and education, and will service patients and providers throughout the Portsmouth, OH community. The program will begin with the Cancer Center, Infectious Disease Clinic, and at SOMC Gastroenterology Associates but aims to expand to cover the broader hospital and beyond over time. As the first hospital in the region to achieve the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s highest honor, Magnet recognition status, SOMC is dedicated to improving all of southern Ohio’s health and wellness. With Trellis Rx’s help, this “patient-first” concierge-level pharmacy care will help SOMC achieve this goal for even its most vulnerable of patients.
