340B Newsflash: 340B Program Annual Recertification for Hospital Covered Entity Types

The annual recertification for all hospital-covered entity types will be available from Wednesday, August 24 through Monday, September 19 at midnight Eastern Time.

Reviewing the Recertification Process

There are a couple of webinars available to review the recertification process:

• 340B Health (Wed., August 17 from 2:00 - 3:00 PM ET): A subscription and/or payment is required for this session.

Before the Recertification Process

Prior to the recertification process the hospital should:

• Confirm their Authorizing Official (AO) and Primary Contact (PC) can login and access the340B OPAIS 
• Obtain a copy of the latest filed Medicare Cost Report, including Worksheet S that includes a digital encrypted signature

Additional Information

It is important for covered entities to independently verify their submitted information during recertification in OPAIS. Important variables to check include but are not limited to: DSH adjustment percentage (if applicable), hospital control type, hospital classification, MCR filing date, and the cost reporting period.

Failure to provide and/or upload the required documentation could result in termination from the 340B program.

As a reminder, the annual recertification process for hospitals, including the parent site and all registered child sites, must be completed by Monday, September 19 at midnight Eastern Time.
