340B Newsflash: 340B Program Annual Recertification for Hospital Covered Entity Types
The annual recertification for all hospital-covered entity types will be available from Wednesday, August 24 through Monday, September 19 at midnight Eastern Time.
Reviewing the Recertification Process
There are a couple of webinars available to review the recertification process:
- 340B Health (Wed., August 17 from 2:00 - 3:00 PM ET): A subscription and/or payment is required for this session.

Before the Recertification Process
Prior to the recertification process the hospital should:
- Confirm their Authorizing Official (AO) and Primary Contact (PC) can login and access the340B OPAIS
- Obtain a copy of the latest filed Medicare Cost Report, including Worksheet S that includes a digital encrypted signature
It is important for covered entities to independently verify their submitted information during recertification in OPAIS. Important variables to check include but are not limited to: DSH adjustment percentage (if applicable), hospital control type, hospital classification, MCR filing date, and the cost reporting period.
Failure to provide and/or upload the required documentation could result in termination from the 340B program.
As a reminder, the annual recertification process for hospitals, including the parent site and all registered child sites, must be completed by Monday, September 19 at midnight Eastern Time.
